Eyes to the Sky

"ब्लॉगर कैन नोव टाईप इन हिंदी!"
^ blogger now types in hindi. Sweet.

Today, I was at the library (as usual). And as I was standing there spacing out (as usual), this librarian walks up to me (other ppl do this a lot , I don't know why) and says,
" I really like your...."
"Toe socks?"
"..Yeah! They drive me crazy though. Looks great on kids but not on me."

Man have I never been more happy to be called a kid. 16 and wishing that June 22 would never come. Parents always say to you, " kids always want to be grown-ups, but you'll realize that that sucks later on."
I certainly hope i'm not your average kid. I've realized since the day i turned 16 that youth is invaluable. I need it. From the moment you are born you begin dying, and every moment that passes you is one you've lost forever.

As a youth you have dreams. I have dreams. I can sit around and contemplate those dreams. I can walk around New York city thinking, gee this place is beautiful.
20 years from now I'll be doing the same, except I'll be thinking how to pay that month's rent and whether the kids are safe.

It's nobody's dream to have to think that. And as I look around me I see all the people who've died for more years than I have.
I'm lucky. If nothing else, I have my youth.
