The Darkest Hearts

The reason I "hope I don't die tomorrow" last night was because I knew I'd have some dreams that would be destructive... and that I would embrace them because I so love my dreams..
Here is all I can remember.

It's a dimly lit but spacious place, empty and grungy, and not unlike a metro station at night. There are large gaps between rooms, which are on different levels.
There is a girl whose mood does not fit the scene. She is happy, anxious, innocent. Apparently this is a place she and her friends go because it's fun.
And she whispers, 'but while they go downward, I have found somebody in that room behind the closed panel". And she leaps across and opens the panel.
The room is even darker. All that is inside is a candle, and a beautiful, smiling young man, and she wants his companionship; he's captured her heart. But in the eerie surroundings, she realizes there is something wrong with him. Why has he dwelled here for what seems like eternity?
She leaves, and when he is alone she sends a small fawn to investigate. When she curiously follows, she uncovers that he's 54 years old, and apparently a monster living here behind a facade, a mask.
She's repulsed, and frightened, and flees.

There is a long cafeteria table right outside the cafeteria. Stefan sits there, in silence, with his friends around him (really everyone imaginable). I approach and sit down. It's impossible for me to concentrate on eating.
Yet the air is so lively, everyone is laughing.
And I want to scream at him, and I do, and I throw things, but everyone is laughing. Laughing at me. Pitying me. Telling him to pay no attention to this bawling, insane girl. Brian tries to help me, tries to tell them to stop. I leave.

It's been 20 years since the girl discovered the boy in the room. The place is now aged. Light seeps through the walls that are now broken. She visits with her family, taking stairs to the old room.
But both she and the boy still appear to be their old selves, even the same age.
And for some strange reason they are still enamored to each other...both laughing together in a creepy way.

I see Stefan in the distance.
It's an empty day with blue skies. I'm in the middle of the road surrounding silent houses.
I run up to find him, but he's gone. I look around me, and see boys in the field who look like him, but they're not him.
Where did you go?
